Challenge
Habit Food Bar is a new kitchen on Seamoor Road in Westbourne. Short menu, local meat, sweets baked the morning they're sold. A new food business usually faces a choice before it has served a single customer. Sign up to a delivery marketplace and hand over a slice of every order, plus the customer relationship with it, or bolt a generic e-commerce plugin onto a website and make a platform built for shipping parcels handle a burger with bacon on it, collected at half past twelve. Habit wanted its own ordering, running from the day the shutters went up.

Approach
We built two connected pieces using AI-assisted development rather than hand-coding them, which is how they went from brief to live in under two weeks. A fast single-page brand site with the menu, hours, location and a tap-to-dial number, built to load quickly on a phone. And a bespoke ordering platform built around how a small kitchen actually runs, with collection or delivery, time-slot scheduling with live availability, item customisation with priced extras, allergen information on every item, a basket that survives leaving the page, discounts at checkout and email confirmation with a mobile number for the kitchen.

Outcome
Every order through Habit's own platform costs no commission and carries no marketplace between the kitchen and the customer. Habit keeps the margin, the customer data and control of how the whole thing looks and behaves, from the first order rather than after a painful migration later. The shop has only just opened, so the order numbers are still being written; the platform is built to grow with it.
